Alberta Moving Lines and Casabella Movers Put me Through Hell

Normally I don’t do this, but I need to share so that others out there don’t go through the hell I did. This business is crooked.

Here is my article.

Alberta Moving Lines and Casabella Movers Put me Through Hell

Even if it was to Save the World, DO NOT use Alberta Moving Lines or Casabella Movers. They will just turn the world into Hell.

We (Meaning myself and Dave) used Alberta Moving Lines which is a company operating under Casabella Movers. I was unaware of the company operating under Casabella Movers until I had already purchased the product. I used Alberta Moving Lines to move from Edmonton, Alberta to Victoria, British Columbia. When looking into Alberta Moving Lines, everything I could find online suggested that they were a good trusted company. They proved to be the complete opposite. There is quite a few things I have to say about the company.

1) There website has false advertising. According to their website we should have had a personal move coordinator that looked over everything. Yet, my “personal move coordinator did not plan or manage my move (other then sending me an invoice and subcontracting people to move my stuff).  That’s just one thing to give an example. Whatever you do, don’t believe anything you read on their websites. If you see something and want to know if it is true or not, ask me and I’ll let you know what really happens.

2) They lie. Our “personal move coordinator” James, told me one thing then turned around and told Dave something completely different. Does he think we don’t talk or we’re stupid?!? One example is this:
2a) I asked James if they could move a motorcycle as we needed a company to ship all our stuff plus Dave’s motorcycle. James told me yes it’s no problem and they do it all the time. Yet when Dave talked to them (after the bike was loaded, see point number 4) James told Dave that he wasn’t even sure if it was legal to ship the motorcycle in their trucks as well as that they never have shipped a bike before.

3) The moving crew and truck showed up 3 hours late both in Edmonton and in Victoria. They showed up without all the proper supplies. I was told my mattresses would be put into mattress bags yet they were not, and they would wrap all my furniture in blankets to protect them yet they wrapped some more then necessary and some not at all. They stated it would take 3 hours to move everything from my apartment and into the truck yet it took them 6 hours.  Yet their website states it would take 6 hours and then on top of that they had the nerve to ask for more money!(See point number 8 about this extra money they wanted)

4) We paid $300 extra for a motorcycle handling fee, yet they did not have the proper equipment for the motorcycle or know how to load it so we ended up having to load the motorcycle ourselves. And after we complained to our “personal move coordinator” about that, he said he was glad that we loaded it! (See point number 2a for more on this)

5) After everything was loaded in the truck, neither the driver or the crew knew how to properly secure the load. Thankfully my boyfriend knew how from working for a shipping company so he was able secure the load.

6) When the truck arrived in Victoria it was 3 hours late. The movers were slow and one of my neighbours ended up unpacking everything instead of the guys paid by Alberta Moving Lines to do it. My neighbour was promised $15 an hour for his work yet they only paid him $14. He should have gotten all the money that the movers got.

7) We have damage to our stuff that they will not acknowledge (as well as some missing things). James refuses to listen to us, and keeps arguing with us about everything. I don’t think he knows the meaning of customer service, no, or your wrong.

8) They ended up charging $350 to my visa without my consent. Thankfully I was able to sort this out with Visa as when I tired to sort it out with Alberta moving Lines/Casabella Movers they wouldn’t reverse the charge.

9) I went through so much stress because of them and ESPECIALLY because of James, that my body has taken on physical pain as a result of stress.

I would like to tell everyone out there NEVER to EVER use Alberta Moving Lines or Casabella Movers. They will screw you over and all their testimonies are false. I don’t want to see anyone else getting hurt and stressed like I did. They will do anything in their power to just scam money out of you.

Please share so that others will never have to endure what I did. If there is nothing else I can do, I just would like to stop anyone else from getting hurt.
